Who We Are
Once upon a time we looked around and asked, “What does the world need from us?”
It certainly doesn’t need more of the same.
The world—including you, possibly—needs options and alternatives that are more than just new faces telling the same old story. The world needs alternative thinking. And the world certainly needs a new and different vision from advertising and branding agencies. Come on, it’s insulting the way that most of them are saying and doing the same thing.
So that’s what we’re giving the world—alternatives. We’re bringing people together from different disciplines who aren’t used to working together, and they’re collaborating in really exciting ways. And that leads to different thinking. Oh, yeah, a lot of places say they’re doing that right now, but are they really? Then how come everything they show you is still the same stuff, with maybe a viral concept thrown in?
We’ve developed a model of branding that’s also different from the one most places are using. We call it Brand Culture. It suggests that people are using brands today to help shape who they are and to communicate what they stand for. It suggests that brands, in order to be sustainable, need to operate like a culture (in the anthropological sense of the word), and give people something to join and belong to. It suggests that a manufactured brand image won’t cut it anymore. (See our white paper on Brand Culture for more.)
Maybe you know this already. Maybe you’re getting this from your agency right now. Great. Excellent. That makes us happy. But maybe you’re not, and maybe you’re curious about what we mean when we say the old model of branding is dead.
Maybe you should call Mike Mirkil, our director of business development, at 503-548-6322 and ask him some questions. His email is mikem@idbranding.com. He’s a really nice guy, and sharp.
